Getting 'error 0400 reading sector 321408' while installing server 12.04 64 bit. I'm not finding any information about the error or how to trouble shoot. The Dell poweredge 2850 has no current OS (if that's important). Separate but related question, from reading the install doc I understood that I can manually reconfig and initialize raid without going into utilities during startup, is that correct? Thanks!

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! error 0400 reading sector 321408 indicates a storage issue on your hardware. Please provide more information about your hardware with storage devices in particular. Run from a Live installation and use commands like lspci -nnk for the controller for example. Remember that we can't see your screen and other indicators and we don't have the same hardware around, so please be as specific and as descriptive as possible. – gertvdijk Jan 11 at 15:42
