I have problem with Ubuntu 12.10. I got the purple screen and I don't know how to solve it. It shows only the purple screen, not the Ubuntu loading screen, not even so I can use the keyboard, just purple screen.

Computer Specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Intel Core i5 2410m 2.30 GHz

Intel HD Graphics 3000

4GB Ram

Computer Named: HP Pavilion g6

I downloaded Windows installer.

@bioShark: you do not need to create a new partition if you use the Windows installer called Wubi, which is what the OP did. –  Flimm Jan 10 '13 at 20:57
@Flimm You are right. I never used it, but I assume it allocates itself a new partition then. –  bioShark Jan 10 '13 at 21:15
@bioShark: no, it doesn't, it's cleverer than that. It installs a single file into the partition that Windows uses, and then mounts that file as a filesystem. No new partitions needed. –  Flimm Jan 10 '13 at 21:25
Can you describe the sequence of events after you choose Ubuntu at boot menu? Please also state if there is a text cursor blinking at any time. –  Jorge Suárez de Lis Jan 10 '13 at 21:39
