This is the important part: E:Malformed line 60 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)

Open /etc/apt/sources.list with your favorite editor and take a look at line 60. It will be different than lines above and below (if any). Edit the line to the correct format and then try again.

Example from command line:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

This will open something like this ...

enter image description here

All the lines need to be formatted the same. Lines with a # in front are considered comments (ie. turned off).

Try this

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get update -o Acquire::http::No-Cache=True
sudo apt-get clean

Could you explain this a little better? What does this do and why perhaps? –  Seth Jan 10 '13 at 19:57
