I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu with Windows in my machine. It shows the dual boot options and windows runs perfectly but when I click the Ubuntu option it shows:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file (\ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr) is missing or contains error.

I think its because of UEFI firmware settings but I don't know how to change the setting. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same machine and have had nothing but grief installing linux on it. I've tried several flavors of 64-bit Ubuntu and all of them have run either extremely sluggish or produced a constant stream of internal errors. I also managed to accidentally wipe the hidden partition with Windows 8 re-installation software so it's basically a hunk of metal now. Also cant find the windows license number anywhere on the outside of the machine (usually its on a sticker somewhere) Be careful!
