I'm trying to update to 12.10 or 12.04 from 11.10, but every time I check for updates or upgrades, nothing comes up. I've messed with the update manager settings from the Updates tab in Software Sources so I'm not sure how to proceed frmo here. Can anyone help me out? :(

What changes did you make to Update Manager settings? Could you list the actual settings in your post? – To Do Jan 8 at 16:59
The following are checked: Important Security Updates, Recommended Updates, Pre-released updates, Unsupported Updates. Automatically check for updates is daily. Security updates are updated immediately. Other updates displayed immediately. Notification of a new ubuntu version is for long-term support versions. – Max Swift Jan 8 at 17:03

Trying changing notification for a new Ubuntu versions to "For any new version". Also I would deselect the pre-released updates. – To Do Jan 8 at 17:07
Okie dokie. I did that then went to the Updates Manager and manually re-checked for updates and I didn't get anything. Purely blank. – Max Swift Jan 8 at 17:16
A possible workaround would be to download the iso, create an install disk or USB and install using the option to upgrade the current Ubuntu. – To Do Jan 8 at 17:36
