Where does the boot stop? Is there anything on the screen? If there is something on the screen, please post it here. It might help. –  Aarti Elly Jan 6 '13 at 13:05
To mention I had installed it using WUBI. But now to my utter surprise, the Ubuntu entry is also missing from the program list in windows 7 and hence I am also not being able to uninstall it. Please help –  Jon Jan 6 '13 at 13:05
@ Aarti Elly: Even after I removed the ati graphics drivers, ubuntu is not getting started in full graphics mode. Is it possible to reinstall a fresh copy over this wubi install using live cd or live usb? –  Jon Jan 6 '13 at 13:09
In case you want to uninstall wubi, you can do it from command line. You might like to try the instructions given here freshtutorial.com/uninstall-applications-windows-7-command-line –  Aarti Elly Jan 6 '13 at 13:11
It is possible to install Ubuntu alongside Windows-7 using a live usb/cd. –  Aarti Elly Jan 6 '13 at 13:15
