Is there anyway to solve it so I can find the USB thats plugged in and mount it? If its any help its a Garmin ANT+ USB Stick and Im running 12.10. Ill give more details if needed but still a bit of a newbie to Linux.

Is there an LED on the pendrive that indicates that it is being read when you plug it in? It looks like it would be found as /dev/sdb if it was being recognised. USB can be problematic at times, try a different USB port and get rid of any cables or USB hubs if you are using them. – fabricator4 Jan 6 at 13:24
No but it does work on a Windows XP laptop my friend has. Ive tried all USB ports but the same problem. There werent any other in the USB's in the laptop at the time. Get the same results from sudo fdisk -l aswell. – Mackay508 Jan 6 at 13:39
