I have a problem with an application (synce-trayicon) that should show an icon in the gnome panel (in the "indicator applet" I guess). But when I launch the application, I can briefly see a 1-pixel-wide line appearing in the panel, and suddenly disappear. BTW, the application itself shows running (ps aux reveals it), but I need to see the icon, and click on it to interact with the application. I would like to know how to investigate the error.
For example, is there any command line option to list the applets loaded in a panel, or show what is happening inside an applet?
Furthermore, I don't know if my problem is related to the indicator applet, or to gnome-panel, or to the application itself... how can I discover it?
Can anybody help me? Any little hint would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Angus
I run Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome Classic (no effects) session, on an intel x86.
