Sir, I've installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 7. When I selected Ubuntu (for first time) in the boot menu, it opened a GRUB 2 screen. I don't have any idea what GRUB is, and I was expecting that selecting Ubuntu would directly start Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu in an internal hard disk different from that of Windows 7.

Did you install Ubuntu using the WUBI installer? When you say Boot menu do you mean the one in Windows and not the GRUB Menu? –  Luis Alvarado Jan 4 '13 at 1:56
GNU Grub version 2.00-7 ubuntu II Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. grub > –  Mayur Jan 4 '13 at 2:08
