Installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and then upgraded to 12.04 LTS and then installed the nvidia drivers (stable) and then ran Ubuntu Software Center to install Qt Creator causing system to become unresponsive and screen to start flickering. Looks like I'm going to have to reboot. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Not sure if this is related to the following issue -

Perhaps you may want to turn dithering off. Please refer to a suggestion found in: HP EliteBook 8440p screen flickers after blank screen (nvidia)
