I am currently trying to build a dhcp and firewall server for my home. I followed the instructions posted on the Ubuntu Forums about setting up such a server.

As far as I can tell, I don't have any syntax errors. I tried connecting my Windows 7 laptop to my eth1 cable, but am not getting any IP address from my server.

Would appreciate the help.

On my server I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 server version.

When I check the leases for isc-dhcp-server

tail /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases

#The format of this file is documented in the dhcpd.leases(5) manual page.
#This lease file was written by isc-dhcp-4.1-ESV-R4

server-druid "\000\001\000\001\030q\327L\000\340R\374\342\213";
