My hard drive is a Seagate External HD and it worked perfectly out of the box. The filesystem was NTFS and it showed up on the left hand side in Nautilus with its own icon, and it was referenced as /media/Seagate-blablalba.
I needed to reformat it to FAT32 because I need to use xbox and ever since, it doesn't get automounted.
I have added an fstab entry:
/dev/sde1 /mnt/sde1 vfat defaults,exec,umask=022 0 0
Here's the fdisk for it:
/dev/sde1 256 732566527 2930265088 b W95 FAT32
It seems like right now it's automounting, but I have a couple issues.
1) When it automounts, the user in
sde changes from
root. When I unmount it goes back to
meder. I have no permissions on it, basically
2) It does not show up in Nautilus like before. Is this because it needs to be bound to be
/media/blablbal instead of
/mnt ? What's the difference?
