I'm using ubuntu 12.04 on 4 of my computers, they are all desktops.

On 2 of them (they are newer in terms of hardware) I constantly have a full freeze that force me to make a hard reset.

The other 2 never freeze!

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

Cheers,

Or.

Please add a little more detail about the computers such as their processor, RAM, and are all of these of the same "make" i.e all their hardware of the same parameters like hard disk, RAM, and even year of manufacture, etc? – Jobin Dec 28 '12 at 16:29
All 4 desktops are i5, the 2 that gets stuck have the same Gigabyte motherboard, H61. 4G RAM for all of them. – Orsha99 Dec 28 '12 at 16:49
Where is it exactly that they freeze, and do they always freeze at that point? – Jobin Dec 28 '12 at 16:55
I cannot pinpoint the exact situation and I didn't notice any similarities. I can diffidently say that most of the time it happenes when I use Chrome+Skype+LibreOffice. – Orsha99 Dec 28 '12 at 17:01
Do tty sessions work when it is frozen. Press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to go to a tty session; press ctrl-alt-F7 to go back to normal. If they do work then it might be in problem in the Unity desktop environment – function Dec 28 '12 at 17:49
