Whenever I perform an Ubuntu-install on a computer, I must check that all Mesa-extensions are properly installed. I do not know which are essential for good graphics performance since there are so many different MESA/OpenGL-extensions available.
What would you suggest? Which packages are essential after installing the Open source-drivers vs. closed-source?
I have the Mobility Radeon 4200 hardware (RS880) and it utilizes Gallium 0.4
My second question is if the open source drivers support hardware acceleration in that way that the BOINC-client can make use of it properly?
