When I try to restore data that I did not encrypt, I need to enter an encryption password.

Recently I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.10. In the older version I made a backup without encryption of the /home folder. Under my own user name I never had to enter an encryption password. Under another user name, Déja Dup did ask for a password when that other user wanted to make a backup.

After the upgrade "something went wrong". Now I want to restore my files from /home. All my files are gone. How do I restore my files?

Thanks & regards

Hmm. I've seen a couple reports of this but I don't know how it happens. Is it possible you entered a password and told deja dup to remember it? The backup volume files themselves all end in .gpg? – Michael Terry Jan 17 at 3:47
