I have just installed Ubuntu v12.04.1 on Virtual box (on Windows 7) and after installing it, I have tried several times to install updates via Update Manager (200+ updates). It fails. I also tried just checking instead of simply installing albeit to no avail. Please assist.

We'll need to know what error messages you are getting before we can tell you how to fix it. Open a terminal and type the command "sudo apt-get update" and edit your question, pasting the errors into it. If that command works OK, then do the same with the command "sudo apt-get upgrade" – fabricator4 Dec 23 '12 at 10:09
Sorry - I found the issue with my network card....all is fine – Les Dec 23 '12 at 11:00
