Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

It looks like previous versions of Ubuntu had a package called linux-ec2 that would install a kernel with Xen Guest support. I was unable to find any packages in specifically 12.10 that install a kernel with Xen Guest support built in.

My question: are there any official packages in Quantal Quetzal with a Xen DomU (Guest) support pre-built so that I don't need to compile it myself or download someone else's kernel?

I haven't tested it, but I suspect linux-image-x.y.z-aa-virtual is the package for which you're looking. –  hbdgaf Dec 23 '12 at 4:16
