I would like to install Ubuntu using a live USB. I created the bootable USB following instructions from http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows with another laptop running Windows.
My notebook came without an OS. I've inserted the USB and pressed Fn while it starts up. When I turn it on, it shows the manufacturer splash screen, then the following options:
1 - Load FreeDOS with maximum RAM free, using EMM386 2 - Load FreeDOS including HIMEM XMS-memory driver 3 - Load FreeDOS without drivers
Enter a choice: [ ]
F5=Bypass startup files F8=Confirm each line of CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT [N]
The notebook I want to install Ubuntu on is an Asus K45VM. What I would like to know is how to make it boot from the USB drive.
