Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm loading Xubuntu 12.10 Desktop from a USB flash drive and have connected to my wireless network - everything works. But when I go ahead and load the installer and it shows the installation requirements:

  • At least 4.3GB free disk space,
  • Plugged in to power source, and
  • Connected to Internet.

However, it displays that I am not connected to the internet.

How can I solve this?

It is better not to connect to internet while installing. It will take a long time (50min ~ 1 hour where as installation takes 10-15 min). You can do all the updates later. – Web-E Dec 21 '12 at 11:09
