Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Since I updated my Ubuntu to version 12.10, after booting, when Ubuntu starts loading, screen goes off (monitor shows information that no signal is recieved). When screen goes on, first thing I can see is login screen, so I conclude that screen is off in time, when Ubuntu logo with four dots should be shown.

It's nothing very important, but a little unaesthetic, so it would be nice if there's any solution to this problem.

Thank You all for the answers.

Have you installed propietary drivers? It's a known bug that, at least with Nvidia propietary drivers, the booting screen isn't shown (this doesn't happen with Nouveau, the open-source driver). –  Addison Montgomery Dec 20 '12 at 19:05
