Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have recently installed Ubuntu and have updated it with all of the additional drivers via a Ethernet cable, and I can access the internet via cable, however when I attempt to use the wireless it says "device not ready (firmware missing)". I have read a few people who have similar problems but theirs are all linked to them not having updated various things via cable. So I have no idea what the problem is and how to fix it.
