I made a live Lubuntu 12.10 CD, booted it up using the CD, installed Lubuntu got to the point where it says need to restart your computer now and after I take the CD out I restart the computer and it goes to the Lubuntu screen with the 5 dots and it just stays there, so after about 30 minutes I tried to restart the computer and it comes up with an error, which is

[14.891249][drmidrm_crtc_helper_set_config] *error*failed to set mode on [crtc:10]

I get that same thing two lines of that, and it is waiting for me to type something but I don't know what to type. I can put the CD back in and run the try Lubuntu and everything seems to work that way. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this, or tell me if I need to do something else or if I did something wrong it would be greatly appreciated. The computer is:

Compaq Presario SR2002X
AMD Sempron Processor
512 MB RAM
120 GB HD

Have a look at this. Is it similar and does it solve your problem? –  Aditya Dec 20 '12 at 11:37

I pressed Ctl Alt F! and logged in, and it says there are 94 packets to update, 44 are safe. I typed in startx, a bunch of folders scrolled down the screen the screen flickered then it says: loading extension GLX resize called 1024 768 Xinit : connection to X server lost wait for X server to shut down [ 97.238829] [drmidrm_crtc_helper_set_config]*error* failed to set mode on [crcti 10] server terminatated successfully (0).closing log file dan@dan-Rc684AA-AbA-sr2002x-na640:~$ –  Dan Dec 22 '12 at 4:34
