I recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 and was having great fun with it until I wished to upgrade my AMD drivers! I'm sure most of you know so I won't go into detail, but when these are installed it causes unity to crash and doesn't respond and all I get greeted with on login is my desktop background.

Now I've seen the fix which is here, but my laptop has two gpus in it. A 4200 HD series, which this article states crashes and a 5400 HD, which should be okay. Is there a way to set my 5400 as default and I can install the new fglrx? Or should I just stick to the legacy driver? Thanks in advance, sorry I can't be of more help explaining but I'm very new to this sort of thing.
