The new kernel is not working properly. After I login it shows that the kernel crashed. I used to go to the advanced boot menu option and select the old kernel. Before that I ran the janitor (Ubuntu Tweak).

I am using Ubuntu 12.10, linux-image-3.5.0-19-generic is the only one working properly. I usually go to advanced tool in boot menu and select the old one now.

did you installed any driver manually (mean using command line build functionality with commands like make make install) in older kernel? like graphics card driver – Web-E Dec 15 '12 at 7:19
One way to solve the problem is to install working kernel. To do this, press ctrl+alt+F1 to get to console prompt. Login and then install desired kernel using apt-get. Once you have stable system then debug the information to find out whats wrong with the system – Amey Jah Dec 15 '12 at 9:08
