Panasonic HM-TA2 does not work with linux or skype as a webcam. Any ideas?

Camera monitor detects it. Camorama could not connect to video device (/dev/video0).

Which cameras are known to be compatible with Ubuntu 12.04 and skype? There does not seem to be a compatibility list and the skype shop blindly believes everything it sells is guaranteed to be compatible. I am not so trusting and don't want to waste my time.

Did you try using it with another software? Cheese sudo apt-get install cheese, for example. –  Vítor Manfredini Dec 12 '12 at 14:33

Have you seen wiki.ubuntu.com/Webcam? –  user68186 Dec 12 '12 at 14:56
