I installed AMD Catalyst drivers from Additional drivers, after download and installed it, computer asked to restart, but I didn't see that drivers installed while I'm booting. I need to run the OS in nomodeset.

When I open the catalyst in the applications it shows the following error:

There was a problem initializing Catalyst Control Center Linux edition. It could be caused by the following.

No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly.
Please install the AMD driver appropriate for you AMD hardware, or configure using aticonfig.

I have this Graphics Card: AMD RadeonHD 7470M 1GB.

Sai: When you'll be having fun with installing Catalyst don't install it directly, but ALWAYS create a package and install it. This way, when you screw something up, you'll be able to get back to the starting point by simply removing the package I also noticed, that it's not always best to install Catalyst. Have you tried running any OpenGL game? If it runs fine, it's really good not to install any additional drivers. Also, can you drop us /var/log/Xorg.0.log? – Melon Dec 17 '12 at 11:18
