Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on an Acer Aspire 3690 yesterday. Wired internet worked fine, but WiFi wouldn't work.

Today, Internet won't work at all, even wired. I'm brand new to Ubuntu, so I don't know what to do.

Thank you for any help.

This model doesn't have built in wifi, you'd have to provide us with more information about the card that you're using. –  Brandon Bertelsen Dec 10 '12 at 21:22

Could you model the information provided in your question after this one: askubuntu.com/questions/165326/… Also, is there a card pushed into the side of it? It should be a PCMCIA device. –  Brandon Bertelsen Dec 10 '12 at 21:26

I'm on my phone so it won't look right but...-Acer Aspire 3690...originally running Vista. –  scott Dec 10 '12 at 21:31

Problem: Won't connect to internet. In network settings, it has no wired or wireless option. –  scott Dec 10 '12 at 21:33
