I want to use ruby 1.9.1 . The problem I am facing is shown below. I wish someone could help me out.

$ uname -a
   Linux almb-PC 2.6.38-15-generic-pae #66-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 14 17:45:09 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
$ cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=11.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=natty
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 11.04"

$ sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.1-full
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
ruby1.9.1-full is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 19 not upgraded.

$ update-alternatives --config ruby
update-alternatives: error: no alternatives for ruby.

$ ruby -v
ruby 1.8.7 (2010-08-16 patchlevel 302) [i686-linux]
