I'm trying to install another LAN card on my desktop, I tried to follow the instructions on the install file, but I there was no clear way to do it, especially, it mentioned that it works for linux kernel version 2.4 and 2.6 while I have Ubuntu 12.10 installed with kernel 3.5.0-19-generic.

All I got is couple of c files.

Is there a standard and effective way to install this LAN card driver.

Please run the terminal command lspci -nn and edit your post to add the details of your ethernet card. We suspect the driver is built in. – chili555 Dec 10 '12 at 15:07
