Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am new to Ubuntu and things have gone pretty smooth but I am in need of help when it says "Firmware missing" under my Wireless status bar.

What do I need to do exactly? I have a CD with my D-Link router that you are supposed to install but it doesn't work on Ubuntu either.

I tried downloading bw43-cutter but I am not even sure on how to install it or what it is.

Thanks.
