I swapped from a 128GB disk to a 256GB disk. The 128GB was (almost completely) full. By that, I mean I'm not able to download any updates for the 11.04. This is a dual boot setup. Win7 & Ubuntu 11.04. I believe Ubuntu was installed on the disk w/ wubi, as I see this at the root of the Win7 C:, and I have a ubuntu folder there as well.
I clonezilla'd the 128GB to the larger 256GB. I ran gparted and added a chunk to the original 128GB.
I found this didn't help my full-disk Ubuntu situation.
I tried to move the ubuntu to its own partition w/ MigrateWubi I ran the script and the screen very quickly went black. The machine still boots to the WinBootloader, where the "ubuntu" selection brings up Grub (ver1.99). GParted is showing that there is ~1GB in the migrated partition. (I think it worked.) When I look at the Disk Usage Analyzer, I get confused. Total fileSys cap= 100% @ 176GB Total fileSys usage= 46% @ 80GB. Nautilus is telling me there is 500MB of free space.
I'm fairly certain I'm still booting to the "old" win/ubuntu disk. Did MigrateWubi just move the OS, or the whole machine?
1) How can I get more disk space into Ubuntu on the old Win/Ubuntu partition?
or
2) How can I get the machine to boot the "new" Ubuntu-only partition? (To see if my stuff is there.)
I don't care which,... I just want to get Ubuntu updated, so I can get back to doing some real work. (Thanks)
