I have just installed Ubuntu 11.10. Before that I had 11.04. Everything went well without errors but when I restarted my computer I ran into some difficulties. There is no unity or gnome panel. The SUPER key is not working, I can't open the terminal (Alt+ F2), I can't drag any window and in the right corner, where was the clock and settings and stuff...now there is nothing! It seems I have lost the entire GUI!!! I can't even turn off the computer properly. I have no idea what to do, when I minimize something, I can't bring it back... Can somebody tell me what to do or how to revert back to 11.04, where everything worked fine?

I am new to askubuntu and therefore I can't comment, but I've found a similar problem as yours, so I want to post it for you: askubuntu.com/questions/17381/… Try out all these answers given, it should most probably work then. – Dominik Berger Dec 1 '12 at 20:11
