Want to install ubuntu from usb flash but after i press continue after the install alongside windows button my HP pavillion laptop restarts and boots into vista and starts wubi installer. The wubi installer installation process ends with the following error.

  'None Type' object has no attribute 'get_info' A portion of log file is as follows

You should try to install otherwise. creates a second partition with gparted, which exists in the ubuntu live pen (resize the windows partition if necessary). and creates another much smaller partition to use as swap. when you run the installer, instead of you select "install alongside windows" option selects the manual. A window will appear with a schematic graph of the disc. selects the small partition(to swap), click Create, and chooses as swap area. then select the larger partition, previously created, and choose ext4 with journal. click "Next" and follow the steps.
