How can I start VNC service at Ubuntu by doing it remotely (SSH) without first having to log in physically at the Ubuntu computer?

Presently, I have to: 1. Physically login to Ubuntu at the computer itself. (why??) 2. Then I can remotely use a SSH session to open a bash shell. 3. Start VNC service with: /usr/lib/vino/vino-server 4. Use remote VNC viewer client to get remote GUI.

How can I eliminate step 1?

thanks.
