What is the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit and which should I choose?

I am new to this and need help.

OS is Win 8 Pro 64 Bit.(on SSD) I want to have dual boot and install Ubuntu also. Question is, should I use the 32 or 64 Bit Version? Thanks, Paul

Since your computer can run 64-bit, you should go ahead and use it. There was a time when not everything was available in 64-bit, but those days appear to be in the past. In addition, most comparisons seem to show that 64-bit is somewhat faster than 32-bit (although not enormously so). You have nothing to lose by running 64-bit, and you'll even gain a bit.
