Situation

  • I have Ubuntu 12.10 , I have a lot of important files in it. They are about 120GB.

Problem

  • My Ubuntu Operating System is about to crash.

Crashing Experience

  • Sometimes the whole screens goes white.

  • Sometimes the apps crashes , about every software have a chance to crash even terminal.

  • Sometimes the whole screen Hangs

What I want

  • I want to a repair that can repair all my Softwares or only repair my operating system so that I can maintain my files. I want my OS to be back to the stable state no more crashes

There's no universal crash repair software. Do you use Unity? Do get any crash informations? How old is your computer and how much RAM does it have? – pythonm Nov 26 '12 at 13:21
Just both last Christmas 4gb ram, APU A4 3400 , Nvidia gt620. I am sure the OS has the problem not the Computer. – DjBmNukez Nov 26 '12 at 13:28

Anything I have suspicios on will be ,,, I installed Several Desktops.KDE,Gnome,Lubuntu,IceWM,cinnamon,Mate and one another I forget it ....... and also I have installed a lot of tools through ubuntu software center....and also installed few games through Wine . The most important thing at this time is saving your data. If you can, get an external USB drive and backup all of your data to it. You can get plenty of external storage for less than $100 (in the US; I don't know the prices elsewhere, but they should be comparable). One example would be a Western Digital Passport, but there are others.

Once you backup your data, it's safe. Now you can wipe your installation of Ubuntu and install it from scratch, likely a quicker and more reliable method of "repair" than trying to dig around and find whatever might be going on. Once you've reinstalled Ubuntu you can restore all the data you saved and be as good as new.

I have removed All other Desktop Enviroments and only installed Xubuntu and MATE-Desktop-Enviroment and now I have no crash so far.
