Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have just installed ubuntu 12.10 and wireless doesn't work.

It's dual boot, and it is on by default in windows.

There is a toggle switch on the front which works in windows, but has no effect in ubuntu.

What must I do to activate it?

Thanks,

Phil

So this is a physical two-position switch or button and not a keyboard key with a wireless icon on it? –  WindowsEscapist Nov 24 '12 at 21:59

It is actually a physical sliding button with spring action. So it acts as a toggle. Slide to right - on, slide to right - off. It is not a keyboard key. I just installed Jolicloud, and that works fine. I think I'm going to uninstall Ubuntu... –  phil b Nov 26 '12 at 1:25
