Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I had ubuntu installed, but my netbook did not support new gnome graphics on ubuntu, so I tried installing fedora which did support gnome look. However, then I saw that it was not without reason that ubuntu did not support it for my netbook. It was laggy ant slow.

Now I'm trying to install ubuntu again, however when I try to boot from USB flash drive, it says "boot:" and when I type anything and hit enter it says "Could not find kernel image: ".

What should I do in order to get ubuntu installed again?
