How do I fix the GPG error “NO_PUBKEY”?

I try to do sudo apt-get update and I get the following error message:

W: GPG error: lsb3.2 Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 7A4B44C2D2A2203E

There is no such repo in my sources.list

What should I do?

This question was marked as an exact duplicate of an existing question.

Look in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ to see if it's in there. – Jorge Castro Nov 21 '12 at 21:10

on the right top, there's the button to shutdown, go there and press the fourth option, it's the gui for updates.

if that however doesn't work, you could try

sudo apt-get -f install

that command repairs your ubuntu, but I had a problem with that once, so make sure you have all important data backed up
