I have read other threads, including launchpad complaint of the same nature. Yet I feel the need.

Unlike the problem here: Rhythmbox iPod Issues? when I sync Ipod and Rhythmbox, the song does get transferred. No issues there. However, the song refuses to be a part of any playlist.

To reiterate, I can not make a song part of a playlist in my ipod.

During sync, the song shows itself a part of the playlist, but after disconnection, it is never heard in the playlist.

An example if you want further clarity.

  1. I have a song. 'Jean Sibelius'.

  2. I sync it to Ipod. Sync successful.

  3. I drag it to a playlist. Successful.

  4. I disconnect Ipod.

  5. I check the Ipod, song is present.
  6. I expect to hear the song as part of playlist.

  7. That doesn't happen.

Playlists are important for me. This is similar to the issue mentioned here. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/970924

However, till so far, no playlist has disappeared. I have an old playlist that I have continued. In addition, there are only 2 requests for the bug (excluding mine).

Kindly help me in this regard.

An update: As you see here: askubuntu.com/questions/21329/… - I installed dconf, hoping to get into gconf and delete it so as to reset my database and make syncing possible. I got this idea from: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9683712 Kindly aid if this is the best method. I still cannot sync. Mozart is upset. –  katya sehgal Jan 22 '13 at 17:53
