Has anybody succeeded in using Google's PDF viewer for Chromium as follows?

Chromium: Version 20.0.1132.47 Ubuntu 12.04 (144678) (32-bit OS)

libpdf.so: extracted from either stable (6258608 bytes Oct 31) or unstable (6262664 bytes Nov 12) Chrome repos.

The PDF viewer plugin shows up after the installation, but keeps crashing when browsing any of PDF file links.

Any ideas?

Why are you following these steps when the Google PDF/Powerpoint extension from the store here works fine? I am currently running Chromium: Version 20.0.1132.47 Ubuntu 12.04 (144678) (32-bit OS) as well. The article you point to is two years old. –  Kevin Bowen Nov 17 '12 at 23:41
Thanks. Google docs pdf viewer seems rather cloud ready than chrome pdf viewer running as a local plugin. As a rule of thumb myself, a local app can cater for my needs till extra online round-trip proves mandatory. –  sof Nov 18 '12 at 22:03
