I am running Ubuntu 12.10 i386 on a Vostro 3500 laptop and I placed in a DVD, it registered its presence. Then I unmounted it (I thought it would just eject it) and since then whenever I placed a new DVD in the player it doesn't recognise its presence. Please tell me how to get my OS to recognise the DVD's presence.
