I recently bought a 64GB sd card and installed the exfat filesystem on my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop Dell e4200.

It all worked fine for some days, now all of a sudden the file browser and desktop crashes when inserting the cd card.

I haven't made any changes and the sd card works on other laptops, so I dont really know what to do. I tried re-formatted the card, this had no effect.

I bought it as a second small harddrive to extent my ssd, but cannot really use it now.

Please post the output of sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog from the terminal (start before inserting, copy output after inserting). – gertvdijk Nov 15 '12 at 12:07
