I recently applied updates for Ubuntu 12.10. Since the updates, my input voice isn't working for either voice or video calls. And i'm not able to copy anything onto my pendrive as i'm told the drive is read only. I've tried changing the permission via GUI and terminal but still wont work. I've formatted the pendrive thinking it had something to do with it, but still not working. On Windows 7, i'm able to use it fine.
Lastly, before the updates, I could see my network status indicated on the ubuntu notification bar. But since then it only shows disconnected. I can no longer use the Ubuntu Software Center since it sees the system as offline. I use a 3G modem to connect to internet via the Bam Huawei software
Please help. I'm getting frustrated with it and ubuntu in general after searching over 5 hours!
