After updating the kernel in Ubuntu 12.10 to 3.5.0-18, my wireless stopped working. If I boot into 3.5.0-17 then the wireless works fine again.

Any ideas on how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

What wireless card do you have? Please run lspci -nn and find your wireless card and edit your question to add its details. – chili555 Nov 9 '12 at 0:55
The workaround is to report a bug, then continue to use the old kernel until the bug is fixed. – Scott Severance Nov 9 '12 at 4:19
