Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and cannot connect to the internet, indeed it would appear that I cannot access my network card. When accessing the Network settings I get a message which says "The system network services are not comparable with this version" the previous version of ubuntu worked fine.

Help please

Start by opening a terminal and run lcpci. Find your ethernet controller and add this information to your question. –  To Do Nov 8 '12 at 16:43

Did you install any drivers without apt? e.g. compiling from source. –  nickguletskii Nov 10 '12 at 15:33
