Can I use a Windows 7 system restore disc and system image disc (of Windows drive C) to restore WUBI if my computer crashes? I use Deja Dup for backups, and have a CD of the WUBI .iso installation file?

I don't want to run Ubuntu in a separate partition because I find it convenient to run Ubuntu as a WUBI because I can use Windows drivers etc.

Thanks for any advice. I have looked for an answer, but can't find one that answers this particular question.

How are you using Windows drivers in Wubi? Wubi doesn;t let you do that... If you are talking about drives, it can be done either way. –  hexafraction Nov 7 '12 at 22:43
Maybe an error on my part. I am new to Ubuntu, and certainly not an expert. I connected a Sony Walkman that I use as a hard drive, and it did not appear to be detected. I assumed that was because there was no Linux driver. I switched to Windows and downloaded the driver. When I went back into Ubuntu the Walkman was detected and mounted. I assumed (without thinking too much) it was because somehow the Windows driver had been detected. –  davidp21747 Nov 7 '12 at 22:57
I think it was because of the reboot. –  hexafraction Nov 7 '12 at 22:59
How would a reboot have shown the device (Walkman)? –  davidp21747 Nov 7 '12 at 23:28
Some devices are only detected at boot due to a bug or something else. –  hexafraction Nov 7 '12 at 23:30
