Is it possible to access and modify my "real" Ubuntu which is on a different partition from a program such as VMware?

Yeah sure, you can always "access" partitions, but this can be done from any OS, or from a live session. What do you want to modify in your Ubuntu partition that makes you believe you'd need a VM to do so? –  Takkat Nov 6 '12 at 7:26

Umm i actually want to run the operating system from within Windows. Like running a virtual machine but its my real operating system. –  Dylan Nov 6 '12 at 14:58
