I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10. However, I have been unable to connect to the internet with 12.l0 and there are a few other minor problems. I spent several hours trying to fix this internet connection problem (via a wireless) and hoping for some help from the Ubuntu forum.
Meanwhile, I did get the advice to re-install 12.04, which I now believe will be my approach. However, I spent a lot of time configuring 12.04 and would like very much to be able to recover my 12.04 configuration and all my applications when I reinstall.
I would appreciate greatly information on a procedure to recover 12.04. Note, 12.10 is installed now and during bootup choosing any of the recovery modes does not work. I have posted more information on this in the Ubuntu forum [ubuntu] 12.10 installation failed], user: virsto.
