I've tried installing Ubuntu 11.10 on my lenovo y580 a number of times, but I keep running into the same issue. Whenever I try to boot into Ubuntu for the first time using easy BCD, I am brought to the grub page. I relatively new to bootloaders and partitioning but if any of you know a step in the installation process, that would be really helpful!

What exactly do you see at the grub prompt? –  Peachy Nov 4 '12 at 5:15

Grub4DOS Grub <a minimalist BASH like command line ..... (if you want the entire text, I can copy it.> –  Rotblatt Nov 4 '12 at 5:53

It would help. I'm assuming you are on dual-boot. You might not have installed the boot loader in the first sector of the boot partition. Please see the answers in this possible duplicate question: askubuntu.com/questions/139966/… –  Peachy Nov 4 '12 at 6:50
